SAS Airlines is a multi-national airline for both Sweden and Denmark. SAS Airlines is the leading airline carrier for the Nordic countries. SAS Airlines started the Star Alliance and is based out of Stockholm, Sweden with major bases of operation in Stockholm Airport, Copenhagen Airport and Oslo Airport. SAS Airlines had twenty-seven million passengers in 2005. SAS Destinations: - In 2007 the company plans to increase flights out of Stockholm with eleven new flight routes. SAS Airlines will be starting flights to Beijing, Trondheim, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Glasgow, Reykjavik, Munich and Vienna. In addition, SAS Airlines has three routes in the summer from Stockholm to Bergen, Lyon and Bristol. In Spring of 2007 SAS Airlines will also start a new route from Copenhagen to Pristina.

SAS Services: -
There are several classes and subclasses offered on SAS Airlines flights. For domestic flights they offer only one class. Passengers on domestic flights receive sandwiches and drinks for a small fee and free breakfast on Swedish domestic flights. They offer only one class for Intra-Scandinavia flights which includes sandwiches and cold drinks for a small fee. Coffee, tea and breakfast are free on these flights. SAS Airlines flights to Europe have three classes. Economy class only offers sandwiches and drinks for purchase. Economy Flex class offers a three course cold meal or cold breakfast on long flights and short flights have two course meal. Then there is Business class which offers a three course hot meal or breakfast on long flight with a cold three course meal served on shorter flights. In addition, Business class individuals get access to the lounge at airports. On Intercontinental flights SAS Airlines offers three class of tickets. Economy class has cocktails before dinner, three course dinner with one alcoholic beverage, coffee or tea, juice, water, snacks and sandwiches between meals. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase and breakfast is served before landing for night flights. A cold meal is served for any daytime flights. Then there is Economy Extra class which has juice upon boarding, cocktails and cold snacks before dinner. A three course dinner. Coffee or tea with brandy, cognac or liquer is given. Juice, water, snacks and sandwiches are available between meals. Asian flights have a hot breakfast or lunch and United States flights have a snack or breakfast. Then there is Business class which as cocktails upon boarding then cocktails and cold snacks before dinner. Three course dinner is available with a vegetarian alternative. All night flights have the option of a light cold meal before the dinner. A buffet is available in the galley between meals which includes coffee and sandwiches. Breakfast is served before landing for night flights and a second meal is served on daytime flights. |
