Virgin Airlines is a part of the Virgin Group owned by Richard Branson. They offer long distance flights between the United Kingdom and North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. The companies main base of operations is at the Heathrow airport in London along with a base of operations at the Gatwick airport in London. A smaller base is located at Manchester Airport with most of their flights going to the United States and the Caribbean. Services When Flying With Virgin Airlines: - Virgin Airlines offers three classes of service including economy, premium economy and upper class. For economy class seats on Virgin Airlines individuals get free in flight drinks and meals include ice cream and a vegetarian meal option. The seat back personal television in all classes was started by Virgin Airlines. On their flights individuals in economy class have a choice of 58 full length feature films, 60 different audio CDs and about 200 hours of television show options. They also have an option for playing video games. Passengers in all three classes also have addition benefits that most other airlines reserve for the upper classes. This includes amenity kits that include a toothbrush, pen, earplugs and eyemask.

Those who fly Virgin Airlines premium economy class cabins have a separate check-in, more legroom with wider seats and a glass of champagne before the flight. They also have newspapers and a liqueur after dinner. In December 2006 Virgin Airlines also improved their premium economy seats to include china dinnerware and special cabin crew for the class specifically.
The Upper Class of Virgin Airlines is basically equivalent to the business class of other air carriers. Complimentary limousine pick-up and drop-off is offered for upper class passengers. Access to the clubhouse lounge is included while at the airport. These clubhouses also offer a selection of massage and grooming techniques that can be booked in advance. Compared with other airlines, the Upper Class seating of Virgin Airlines is the largest fully flat bed with almost eight inches in length and thirty-three inches in width at the shoulders. Mid-flight Upper Class passengers can also get massage and grooming treatments along with access to an onboard bar. |
