Great Lakes Airlines
Great Lakes Airlines, formerly known as Great Lakes Aviation, is an airline headquartered in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It is mostly a regional airline that services locations around the country. It started operations in April of 1977.

Over the course of its existence, Great Lakes Airlines has had partnerships and/or affiliations with United Airlines, United Express, Midway Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Alliance Airlines, which it acquired in 1988.

The attacks of September 11, 2001 caused much damage to Great Lakes Airlines. The general damage to the industry was severe, but Great Lakes Airlines suffered more than other airlines. Today, the state of Wyoming is subsidizing Great Lakes Airlines because it is an important part of the transportation capability of that state.
